A private applicator is one who purchases and/or uses or supervises the use of a restricted-use pesticide on their own property or anyone else's property as long as they do it without direct compensation for their services. These include farmers, greenhouse and nursery operators.
A private applicator becomes certified by attending an educational seminar at the county Extension office. The cost of certification is $50 payable to the county Extension office AND $25 payable to the TN Department of Agriculture.
All current private applicator cards are scheduled to expire in October 2017. You may re-certify before June 30 for the cost of $25.00. If card expires you must certify with the cost to county extension of $50.00 and TDA cost is $25.00.

You may also re-certify your private applicator card at the Henderson County Extension Office, on March 6. Classes will be held at 8, 10, 1, 3 and 6 p.m. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the class prepared to pay for the class.
Certification classes will be held on March 7 at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Be prepared to pay $75/ $50 to UT Extension and $25 to TDA.
