Washington, D.C.

June 9-16, 2018

Through participating in CWF, you will:

  • Strengthen your communication, leadership and other life skills.
  • Understand the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders.
  • Exchange ideas, practice respect, and form friendships with other youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience hands-on learning while having fun in our nation's Capitol City.

Highlights of the trip include stops at Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials, George Washington's home, Iwo Jima, Smithsonian Museums, Capitol Hill, the new FDR Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

We stay at the National 4-H Center which is located in Chevy Chase, Maryland, just one mile north of Washington D.C. Chevy Chase is considered to be one of the most prestigious suburbs of D.C. Housing at the center is dorm style with three delegates per room. Each room has a private bath and linen service.

CWF is a great way to learn about our Nation's Government through inter-action. The workshops, assemblies, committees and field-trips all combine to bring citizenship to life.

We hope you will join us in this exciting and educational event! Please check with your local county Extension office for other details.
