The Anderson County 4-H Honor Club is a leadership group open to all children in grades 6-12. No prior 4-H involvement is required. The group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Methodist Church Annex.
Officer elections are held at the November meeting. To be eligible to run for an office, submit nomination form to Extension office by November 1.
Objectives:
- To promote fun and wholesome learning activities.
- To create a place where members feel accepted, valued, safe, and can make new friends.
- To teach others and share our knowledge.
- To develop leadership skills.
- To “pledge our hands to larger service” and help our community by planning and completing service projects.
- To help plan and conduct Anderson County 4-H activities.
- To help members gain membership into State Honor Club, All Stars & Vol State and excel in 4-H contests, scholarships and leadership opportunities at the county, regional, state and national levels.
All youth in 6th-12th grades are invited to join the Anderson County 4-H Honor Club.
Anderson County 4-H Honor Club members will have experiences that will help them earn enough points to become a Tennessee 4-H Honor Club member.
Anderson County hosts two TN 4-H Honor Club installation ceremonies each year--one in January during the County 4-H Speech Contest and one in April during 4-H Achievement Day.
