Shelly Barnes is the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent and leads the FCS department in Wilson County.  Mrs. Barnes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Child Development and Family Studies, a Master of Science degree in Human Sciences and a Certificate of Gerontology.  Mrs. Barnes completed her coursework at Middle Tennessee State University.  Mrs. Barnes also holds a special endorsement of Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) from the National Council on Family Relations.
 
Mrs. Barnes currently focuses on leading educational opportunities in the following areas:  First Time Home Buying, Poverty Training, Babysitting, Food Preservation, Healthy Homes, and community efforts related to Wilson County FCE.

Mrs. Barnes was awarded the Lewis H. Dickson Award for Innovative Programming in 2010 for her work with forming an extensive partnership with Lebanon Special School District, Prospect, Inc., and Wilson County Schools in creating the Wilson County Parents as Teachers program.  Most recently, Mrs. Barnes was awarded the Vernon and Ida Darter Award which recognizes excellence among the ranks of Associate Extension Agents. 
 
Mrs. Barnes is currently a member of the National, State and Regional association of Extension Family and Consumer Sciences, (NEAFCS, TEAFCS), Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP), several community focused coalitions and committees, and a 2013 graduate of Leadership Wilson.  Shelly Barnes may be reached at sbarnes@utk.edu

Leslyne Watkins is the Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) Extension Agent and program leader in Wilson County.  Leslyne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology with a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations.  She completed her coursework at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN.  Leslyne holds a special endorsement of Provisional Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) from the National Council on Family Relations.

Ms. Watkins currently focuses on leading educational opportunities in the following areas:  exercise and wellness, food safety, shopping on a budget and maintaining a balanced diet at all stages of life.
