Livestock and Forage Resources

For more information email Chris Binkley or call 931-946-2435.
The market value of livestock sold in Van Buren County is nearly $4 million dollars annually, with livestock sales representing 93% of the market value of agricultural products sold here. Beef cattle, sheep, goats, and horses are all raised in this county which is also home to over 7,200 acres of forage production. The UT Extension office has many resources which can help livestock and forage producers increase their efficiency and profitability. These include in depth classes, field days, and bi-monthly production meetings. We can visit your farm free of charge and help with testing your soil and forage, identifying weeds, and more!
