2017 Appalachian Trail Virtual Walk
May 15-July 9
This fun, 8-week summer walking program is a great way to get outside and exercise with your family and friends! Walk or jog anywhere – your neighborhood, the gym, or even the Appalachian Trail itself.
Your team’s mileage will be tracked along the Appalachian Trail beginning in Georgia and heading north towards Maine while passing through Unicoi County.
Registration is Now Open!
Deadline: Friday, May 12
To sign-up, create a team of 4 or 8 people. Assign a team captain. The team captain will be responsible for submitting the team's registration paperwork and the weekly mileage reports. Every team member must complete the Individual Registration Form.
Register Online: Save registration forms to your computer and fill out each section. Email completed forms to Rachel York, FCS Agent, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last year, ATVW teams surprassed our 10,000 mile goal by walking over 18,000 miles!

Dining with Diabetes - Lunch & Learn

Dining with Diabetes is a hands-on program designed for people with diabetes or those at risk for diabetes. Gain cooking skills and the tools needed to follow a healthy diet plan.
Parenting Apart – Effective Co-Parenting
Day-Of Price: $50
Parenting Apart is an educational program for parents who have filed for divorce in Tennessee. It is mandated by law that divorcing parents of minor children attend a parent education course. Parenting Apart fulfills this requirement. Through this four-hour course, parents learn how to help their children cope with the issues that arise because of the divorce. Topics covered during the course range from facts about divorce to keeping children out of the middle of conflict. Classes include discussion, videos, lectures, and role-play activities.
Classes are offered every six weeks. Pre-registration is necessary; please call the UT Extension office at 735-1637 to register.
