Agriculture and Natural Resource Programs

Using research-based information, the University of Tennessee Extension Sequatchie County provides real life solutions for farms, families, youth and the community. 




Soil testing – the University of Tennessee Extension Soil, Plant and Pest Center in Nashville can analyze soil samples and make fertilize and lime recommendations
for row crops, forages, lawns and gardens.
Pest identification – the University of Tennessee Extension can help with insect, weed, and disease identification for crops, forages, and gardens.
Forage Testing – forage and grain samples can be submitted to the University of Tennessee for nutrient analysis, feeding recommendations are then provided.

​Pesticide Safety & Education (PSEP) 

A statewide educational program with an overall goal to protect the environment and the public health from improper use of pesticides by providing applicator and public education. Those completing the class will be certified as a private applicator. Those interested can contact UT Extension office.
