Plants need to be labeled with plant name, growth habits, & divided if necessary.

 Junior Gardener Camp

Come learn all about POLLINATORS! This 3 day camp will teach youth all about pollinators through hands-on learning! Hosted by the Master Gardeners, campers will learn what pollinators are, why they are important, and how they can promote pollinators in their own yard! Campers will see first-hand how bees make honey, how butterflies change in their cocoons, and how to grow plants pollinators prefer!
Wednesday June 26th through Friday June 28th from 8 am until Noon each day. (snack will be provided)
 
Open to rising 4th- 6th graders. Cost is $50 to attend.
 
In order to reserve your spot, return the completed application and fee to the Extension office. (checks can be made to UT-RCE). Click on application pdf below.

 Linebaugh Library Master Gardener Classes

 

 

Come learn from the Master Gardener's! 

We offer FREE educational classes at the following:

  • St. Clair Senior Center
  • Smyrna Senior Center
  • Rutherford County Farmers Market
  • Smyrna Linebaugh Library
    • Classes start at 10am and will last about an hour. Bring a pen, paper and feel free to ask questions!
      • March 9th - Getting Started Gardening
      • March 13th - Annuals and Perennials
      • March 23rd - Vegetable Gardening
      • March 30th - Pollinators and Herbs
  • Murfreesboro Linebaugh Library
    • Beginning in February, the classes will be held on the first Saturday of each month at 9am. Preregister to these classes by calling 615-893-4131 limited space available.
      • February 2nd - Garden Planning and Preparation
      • March 2nd - Planting for Pollinators
      • April 6th - Herbs and Creating Container Gardens
      • May 4th - Growing Vegetables

If you are looking for an opportunity to learn more about gardening, make friends or find a volunteer opportunity in our community—then the Master Gardener program may be for you!

This program is actively involved with the Rutherford County Farmers Market, volunteer projects and other educational opportunities in the county.

The Master Gardener Intern classes are taught by Extension Agents and Specialists as well as industry professionals.
