If you are looking for an opportunity to learn more about gardening, make friends or find a volunteer opportunity in our community—then the Master Gardener program may be for you!
Classes are taught by Extension Agents and Specialists as well as industry professionals. 

 
Classes are February 5 - April 30, 2019 and most classes are Tuesdays from 1pm - 4 pm
 
 Cost: $150.00/person
Please fill out all forms in this packet completely.  
Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
 
Applications are due no later than December 1, 2018 and should be sent to:

Please do not send payment with this application.  Payment of the $150 training fee may be made after you receive notification your application has been approved and accepted.  The fee includes all educational materials. A Certified Master Gardener will contact you regarding our interview process. You will receive notification of acceptance status on or before December 21st, 2018.
 
Some scholarships are available!
There are a limited number of scholarships available for this program.  If you have a financial need that would otherwise prevent you from taking part in this program, please attach a one or two page letter explaining your need and how this program will enable you to benefit others through gardening.  Scholarship recipients are required to maintain active membership in the Rutherford County Master Gardener association for two years. Membership fee is waived the first year but is the responsibility of the recipient in subsequent years.

The 2019 Garden Basics class is offered for those that are new to gardening or simply want a refresher! Master Gardeners teach this 5 week course annually.
In 2019, the classes will be held on Thursday nights for five weeks starting January 31st through February 28th, 6:00pm –9:00pm.
 
Cost of the program is $50 for each individual, but two people from the same household that will share materials will cost $90 for the pair. Please apply by completing the application below and returning it to the Extension office. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
