​The Virtual 4-H Chef’s Table

 (Online interactive cooking classes for youth)

We have a full line-up of virtual cooking classes for youth currently in 4th-12th grades in Rutherford County. With interactive instruction from a 4-H Agent, Raquel Victor, young chefs get to chop, mix and dice their way to a different delicious dish in each class - with enough to share with the family! Kids learn valuable culinary skills and new recipes, enjoy a fun hands-on activity, and are inspired to expand their taste buds!

  • Interactive and engaging class on virtual Zoom
  • Delicious recipes (with modifications available for allergies/dietary restrictions)
  • Recipes, ingredient list & equipment list provided in advance for you to purchase at home for the class
  • Registration required in advance to participate
  • Class sizes are limited
  • Registration will be online from September 15th to October 1st (or when classes are full)-see our UT TSU Extension-Rutherford County Facebook page for more details
  • Fee for class session is $10 (will receive an apron and spatula before classes start)
  • Payment required in advance by check or exact cash (info to be sent out after registering)
  • Registration is for 5 sessions (once a month from October to March-no meeting in December)
  • Parents must sign a publicity release form for the 4-H’er to be on Zoom
  • Beginner Cooking- for youth currently in 4th-5th grade
  • Intermediate Cooking-for youth currently in 6th-12th grade

Note about adult supervision/participation.

These classes involve real-life cooking (with tools, heat, etc.), so parent/caregiver involvement maybe necessary if needed. Only you can determine the appropriate amount of supervision and assistance that your child needs. For our classes, the amount and level of supervision depends upon the experience, abilities and maturity of your child.
