Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is national program that provides guidelines and teaches beef producers the best practices for managing their cow herd. BQA assures that producers put out the best product possible so that consumers can take pride in what they purchase, and also have trust and confidence in the entire beef industry. In Tennessee, a producer must be BQA certified to be eligible for cost share programs through the Tennessee Agriculture Enhancement Program. UT Extension Marion County will be providing BQA certification classes in the coming months to any producers who are interested, or need to be recertified. To schedule a class, or for more information, contact UT Extension Marion County, at (423) 942-2656.
