SLOW YOUR ROLL PHASE III: ADOPTING SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES Through the Tennessee Beginning Farmer Outreach Program, Montgomery County Extension offers this workshop series that includes both farm financial management combined with production education. TIME AND LOCATION: 1st Friday of each month; 11:30-1:30 pm [*On field trip days it may last up to 4:30 pm] Unless otherwise notified, all classes will be held 1030 Cumberland Heights Rd. Clarksville, TN 37040. COST: $15 PER SESSION, OR $80 for the entire program, lunch is provided. PAYMENT: Cash or Check Only. Checks should be written to “UT-Montgomery County Extension”. *Participants may pay at the door; however PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED 7 DAYS BEFORE EACH SESSION. If you do not pre-register, we cannot guarantee a lunch for you. Pre-register by contacting the Montgomery County Extension at (931) 648-5725. March 6th: USDA Programs for Beginning Farmers Ron Eldridge, Acting Chief, Farm Programs Branch, Tennessee FSA State Office Center for Profitable Agriculture Programs & Beginning Farmers Grant Update Troy Dugger, Program Coordinator, Center for Profitable Agriculture April 3rd: Diversified Livestock Grazing System Greg Brann, Tennessee NRCS-retired May 1st: Industrial Hemp Production FIELD TRIP Gurus in the Hemp Industry will update us on the status of TN hemp production *We will meet at 11:30 am at BILL CORBIN’S FARM, 4920 Highway 161, Springfield, TN 37172. Bring lawn chair. Lunch will be served picnic style on site. June 5th: Mushroom Production FIELD TRIP Charley Jordan, Jordan Farms https://www.facebook.com/jordanfarmstn *We will meet at 11:30 am at CHARLEY JORDAN’S FARM, 4823 Lylewood Rd, Indian Mound, TN 37079. Bring lawn chair. Lunch will be served picnic style NO MEETING IN JULY August 7th: Farm Finance 102: Learn & Practice Iris Cui, UT MANAGE Specialist. Bring computer if you have one! We will have extra computers available. September 4th: TN Agriculture Enhancement Program (TAEP) Update Erica Alexander, TDA TDA Hemp Update Denise Woods, TDA Outreach Program Coordinator October 2nd : Graduation Party! Those participants complete 5 or more sessions will receive a certificate of training from the UT-TSU Tennessee Beginning Farmers Outreach Program and an awesome lunch!
