Preparing youth for the workforce is a major concern. Employers are reporting that young workers lack basic key attributes and skills necessary for success in today’s workplace. The dramatic increase in the need for a skilled, well rounded, and knowledgeable workforce requires preparing youth for meaningful employment.

To instill the capabilities of work & life skills in young people, organizations such as 4-H, school systems, employers, communities, and parents must work together. Hamilton County 4-H Workforce Preparation initiative is used to assist youth in preparing them for employment opportunities and the interview process in the pursuit of employment or a post secondary education. The initiative also reemphasizes proper etiquette within various settings and environments that can be used to prepare youth for opportunities.
