Raising Black Sex-Linked Chickens - they are a cross between a Rhode Island Red rooster and a Barred Rock hen. Sex-linked means you can tell between males and females by their apperance at birth; females are solid black, males have white on their heads. The hens will start laying brown eggs at about 18-22 weeks of age.

Please hold Saturday, October 12th morning in reserve for our Chick Chain Show and Sale. We still need to confirm a few details but that is looking like the best date, and your chickens will be right at 6 months old at that time.
