Master Beef Producer Class

The 2010 Master Beef Producer Class will begin sometime in September, 2010. This course will include ten sessions. Most will be scheduled on Tuesday nights. Classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and wrap up by 9:00 p.m.

Cost of the class is normally$50.00 but, will be determined closer to September. Participants receive a text book, farm sign, and cap. Drinks and refreshments are offered each nihgt.

Topics for this program include Beef Quality Assurance and Food Safety, Heard Health, Reporoduction, Feeding the Beef Herd, Management, Marketing, Cattle Behavior and Facilities, Environmental Concerns. Forageds, Carcass Merit, and Genetics.

The Master Beef Producer program entitles participants in the TN AG Enhancement program to be eligible for 50% cost sharing on Genetics, Cattle Equipment, and Hay Barns. Please call DeWayne Perry at the Ag Extension Office at 615-790-5721 for question or email at jperry11@utk.edu
